The Basic Rules/ Etiquette of Roleplay

Kriss and I (for reasons unknown) assumed we'd be getting experienced RPers who know the rules of considerate RP. SO, to fix this oversight, I am going to give a rundown of basic roleplay rules.

FIRST:: This is the biggest rule of roleplay (we believe); No Godmodding. What is godmodding? GodModding is controlling another person's character without their express permission or in a way that is disrespectful to their wishes and/or characters. For example: if two characters are fighting, say, give the other person a chance to dodge the move. Stop the post at a place where the person has time to react and/or change what may be happening. Not doing this will get you on the fast track to epicfails. Seriously.

SECOND:: Consider the environment in which you are roleplaying and how normal people would act/respond/etc. Like, if you pull out a gun in the middle of a crowd, people will likely scatter. Also: this roleplay, while sci-fi/fantasy-ish, IS realistic! When in the normal time plane, act like a normal human being, and DON'T make up parts of the details that WE, THE ADMINS, don't approve first. This includes: People/Organizations who know about the time plane, places outside of Mercury where other time planes do/do not exist, etc. If you wanna make up your own time plane that has stuff like that, fine, but don't mess with our main reality.

THIRD:: This roleplay follows story-like layout, and so we would appreciate it if you wrote in the format of good grammar/english. Meaning: Use paragraphs. Not just one monster block of text. If continuance of problems occur you will be sent to the remedial english courses with a temporary suspension of roleplay privileges until we, the admins, feel you are improved.

FOURTH:: This one is more about courtesy than anything. If two people are in a roleplay and haven't given you permission to join in: don't post in their threads. We don't like deleting posts but if it interferes with a continuous, serious roleplay users have the right to request that the post be deleted. Start your own threads and wait for someone to reply. If no one does, invite more people to the site who will roleplay with you. Or, as chances may have it that this is the cause, improve your style of posting. Leave openings for people to stumble in, if your character is invisible, how will the other person work with you?

While these rules may seem person-specific, this is only because these are the only conflicts we have found arising. These rules will be updated as needed. If one feels oneself is in violation of these rules, it is advised for one to edit and/or delete the offending posts.

This space is reserved until I make another beautiful picture of my wonderful character.
